About me

I have experienced many known anxiety-causing events in my life. I have moved into 21 different houses, lived in 10 different states and two countries, suffered and recovered from a stroke, given birth to three preemie babies with special needs, and performed duties as an Army wife community leader for 20 years. Needless to say, I had a lifetime of anxiety-riddled situations. So, my life led me to take an interest in ways to manage my own anxiety, worry, and traumatic, painful experiences.

Because of my own journey, I became a therapist. I now aspire to teaching and healing women, so they do not suffer the way I suffered without professional help. As a licensed therapist, I can share what I know about managing anxious thinking with those who need it. I enjoy guiding women back to living in a more comfortable body with empowered thinking and rewired brains. It won’t be as hard as you think.

Over the years, I have learned to manage my own anxiety by using music, art, mindfulness, and the pursuit of education as useful tools for healing.

A few more things about me …

  • I tend to do too many things at one time

  • I can’t cook, so I married a hobby chef and taught my boys to cook

  • I was a theater stage and costume designer and a professional musician for 25 years

  • I am a voracious reader of everything, and

  • I tend to misplace things, but always seem to find them when needed.

I combine my personal traits and practiced skills with therapy techniques to include EMDR, trauma narrative theory, and ACT to provide you with a better quality of life. I want to help you heal yourself by combining healthy mind-body connections and therapeutic methods with the tremendous resources and undiscovered strengths that dwell inside you. Only then, can you truly learn to heal, calm, soothe, uplift, and energize yourself each and every today.

I have found empowerment with these techniques, and you can too!

So, my commitment to you

I will commit to being your healing partner by asking meaningful and insightful questions that help us both understand your struggle better. I will listen attentively, without judgement, as you prioritize your goals. And then, your goals will become my goals.

I understand you are ready for positive change right this minute, so I will do my part in providing you with some skills that get you some symptom relief beginning in our first session.  You can use these simple, practical tools to quickly gain quickly motivation for you to continue on the path to healing your trauma.

What it’s like to work with me

My goal is to show up authentically and meet you where you are. I promise to be safe, present, and invested in you and allow you space to explore your feelings. I will listen without judgment. Together we will carefully investigate and focus on your unique trauma experiences and help get you through to the other side of your pain.

As we discover your strengths and you learn healthier coping skills, you will gain the ability to have valuable insight, achieve positive change, and through trauma-informed, evidence based treatments, ultimately heal your trauma.
