Therapy for Anxiety

It is normal to have some low levels of anxiety, but with some work, you will have skills to recognize your level of stress and shift your relationship with anxiety to one that informs you to take healthy action, get your needs met, and empowers you instead of robbing you of your joy and comfort.

Helping you regain a sense of calm and control, no matter how long you have been dealing with overwhelming anxiety, is the primary goal. Returning you to functioning without fear is our objective.

Often, these are the symptoms of anxiety:

  • Nervousness, restlessness or being tense

  • Feelings of danger, panic or dread

  • Rapid breathing or hyperventilation

  • Increased or heavy sweating

  • Trembling or muscle twitching

  • Weakness or lethargy

  • Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything other than the thing you’re worried about

  • Insomnia

  • Obsessions about certain ideas, a sign of obsessive-compulsive disorder

  • Anxiety surrounding a particular life event or experience that has occurred in the past, a sign of post-traumatic stress disorder

Therapy can help to discover the underlying causes of your fears and overwhelming worries, learn tools to relax, start looking at situations in a new, less frightening way, and develop better coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.
